That horse had a lot of heart and some speed left to pour on near the end.

dmw, placing at a horse race is not winning. this isn't some feel good sport climbing comp at the local gym, where we reward the "beginners" with new ropes and screw the fourth place dude/dudette in elite...only one wins, everyone else is a loser.

he still won a crapton of money for it. so he is a winner in my eyes. and he is gonna win the triple crown too.

They call it in the money for a reason. This is horse racing and I'll not defer to Piggie's experience/opinion in this matter.

His opinions on how to bolt choss perhaps, but probably not when we're talking about thoroughbreds.

knowing that he bolts blindfolded certainly explains a lot.

lol.....this is now getting good..how do i always drag these threads down to the lowest common denominator?

charlie, I couldn't even begin to tell you what a thoroughbred is...except it is a fast horse. and I wrongly assumed that the word "win" was being used for the position of the horse in the race, not in the "in the money" terminology.

to win the triple crown, the horse will have to win all three races correct? not just place "in the money'?

pru, I can show you this blindfolded trick in person if you like.

Piggie, all you need to know about the track is: Fast women, beautiful horses, and damn fine bourbon. The rest is merely semantics.
