Ice Climbing and Aid Climbing are different enough that they have their own rating systems Chester. In my mind, they're different sports than that which we use the Yosemite Decimal System to rate.

Yes, they are still climbing but how can you say you're a 5.x ice climber or a 5.x aid climber? Ice Climbing is Wx and Aid climbing is Ax.
That makes no sense and would not apply to being a 5.x climber.

yeah as long as we don't do scarey ass sport climbs!
no worries, Chester. We have much in common. I HATE clipping bolts - scares the life out of me. I much prefer to place my own pro (aka sew it up) or let someone else ropegun the clip ups. I'll beg to lead a sport route when I feel the need to urinate on my own leg.
I also think offwidth should be in another catagory then... It takes a lot of practice to hone those specific skills and it deserves a catagory of it's own.

Yea, Bart and Wes were talking about rating things by the "O" rating system.
O1-O4 for offwidth. I'd probably be down for that. It's probably the most unusual of all the climbing styles.
