No Dogs in the Gorge. Period.
Dogs like this one are more than welcome.

Hey man, first of all not all dogs are like Ace; he's a finely tuned machine who obeys commands without hesitation. Secondly, not all people are like you who give a crap. I was out a few weeks ago and a mongrel harrassed me and mine repeatedly, while the owner kept repeating, "Here Buck!" This went on till we left. Left with these options I am forced to start carrying my Mountain Hardware Pocket Flamethrower.walrus wrote:The Red is a pretty big place. If one finds the current atmosphere unpleasant for any reason there are other routes. If you can't change the situation by politely asking someone to desist then it is probaly a lost cause.

I've had just about enough of this shit.
Man, I think we should just start carrying about a 6' length of chain and padlock and if the owner won't do anything about his dog, you chain it up, lock it, and only release it when you get ready to leave. I have actually thought about doing that before.

...quitting drinking is kinda like washing your hands after you take a crap...why start now?
This raises another topic as well. People who spread their stuff all over the place. On the trails, below routes there are days when I can't help but step on peoples shit. If people are so anal about their gear maybe it should be kept a little more out of the way. If I leave my rope out under a route I think it's completely unreasonable not to expect a little dirt on it.
