and last, what do you people think about a rope traverse across the creek the water was damn cold this weekend.
questions about funkrock
The old road and campground were purchased by the Forest Service several years ago. They had been debating about how to go in and 'rehab' that area for some time. You see they were going to add that land into the Clifty Wilderness, but since that would make it illegal to use mechanized equipment to rehab the land and no one wanted to haul those concrete structures out by hand there was a hold up in the process. Then there was some talk of making a trailhead there and connecting it with the rest of Swift Camp Creek Trail. I never saw what the final decision over the whole thing in any form of public notice (did anyone recieve any final notice about the project?) I'm glad to see they finally did it but miss the days when you could drive across the creek!
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.
littlefeller that move on prime directive is not that bad , just a little balancey. just move out on the face just right of the small overhang and then on to the anchors. i saw someone climb that crack years ago. the forest service bought that land awhile back and guess that is their idea of returning the road to its natural state.
