Re: crash pad under when doves cry

It is kinda sad that so many climbers don't understand basic etiquette. I saw some new climbers taking permadraws off a route. Luckily when I explained that they are there because it makes it easier to clean they put them back. Hope your pad shows up!

Re: Stuck Rope: Caver's Route on Tower Rock

Hey Luke, I'm planning on getting on Caver's Route this Sunday. If it's still there I can definitely get it for you!

Re: Rocktoberfest 2015 - New Stuff this year!

How beginner friendly are the beginner clinics (Footwork, Learn to Lead, Intro to Trad)? Would they be appropriate to someone just starting to climb who can do 5.8's in the gym?

Re: Driving from Motherload/Sore Heel to Solar/Gold Coast

The storm didn't do too much damage along that route. You'll definitely want some clearance since there's a couple of stream crossings but its all gravel so getting stuck isn't a concern.

Re: Good area for beginner top roping?

So 5.0 or lower is pretty much no longer climbing. If you're looking for some fun scrambling, I'd recommend checking out Indian Staircase and Cloudsplitter. Link them together and you have a pretty solid half-day hike with some great views and fun scrambles. I'd also check out Courthouse Rock, altho...

Re: Who got out on Sunday?

We went to Miller Fork Sunday and it was beautiful! Some of the stuff at Infirmary was dry, mostly the overhung routes in the middle of the crag. There were a couple routes that you would have gotten wet going for the chains. Also went to Monastery and everything that was past vertical was dry there...

Re: 2015 V-day Fixed Gear Fundraiser

Fair enough Clif. I certainly don't know all of the politics at play at the Red. I agree it is silly if developers choose to buy cheap bolts over saving up for more expensive hardware, especially since they should know better. Regardless, I'm not out there bolting so I don't mind chipping in for oth...

Re: 2015 V-day Fixed Gear Fundraiser

Apparently I don't have enough posts to send a PM: "We are sorry, but you are not authorised to use this feature. You may have just registered here and may need to participate more to be able to use this feature." Can you try to PM me? I'd like to get in touch and help out! And Clif, maybe...

Re: 2015 V-day Fixed Gear Fundraiser

So this whole thing confuses me. Being a lowly gym climbing 90% of the time and not a regular, I never understand the animosity that is seen on these boards. Sarcasm and friendly (or even not so friendly) banter is expected, but there always seem to be some significant rifts (aka Muir v. RRGCC...don...
