Re: What counts as an attempt?

if your a pro climber... attempts don't start until your ready to send, working burns don't count as attempts, and then, one attempts counts as one session, no matter how many times you fall. For everyone else... every time you fall, take, weight the rope, start then touch the ground, etc.

Re: I need your help

There is a school in versailles, Northside Elementary...I think. It has a bouldering wall in the gym. Not a 30 footer but you might be able to contact them for more information. Hope this helps.

Re: The ongoing weekend idiot report

I heard the story from a source who was there that day. Apparently some guy dogged his way up easy rider, got to the top, unclipped the chains, and told his belayer to give him some slack because he was going to do a backflip. The guy then jumped way back from the cliff (not sure if he completed his...

Re: PDs at Lode

( OH and work is not an excuse the meeting was announced several weeks before) It is actually an excuse. Some people have shift jobs, where they have to be there at a certain time and leave at a certain time. I was on the schedule to work the day of the meeting long before the PD's even got strippe...

Re: The crowds are not going away... So what do we do?

Mikey- I'd point out that there are climbers (dave h., adam t., mike d.) climbing the 14+'s at the red with significantly less media exposure ergo less impact. It is possible (hard to believe i know). I think the problem here is the way the pro climbers get paid. The climbers that are climbing hard...

Re: PDs at Lode

If you can't inspect biners during your onsight attempt maybe you should change your priorities so that safety comes before sending. Going from the top of my mind... I was on a Super Best Friends on onsight and it is at the limit of climbing ability. The crux for me is pulling the roof where you (a...

Re: PDs at Lode

Rick said it very nicely, but why not start with climber education and work on dispersing the crowds to new and/or closed areas first. Which I believe if done correctly will mostly fix these "major" issues. If that doesn't work then go to more extreme measures, like stripping all permadra...
