it has sadly come to my attention that i suck at roof pulls. :(

i can't really practice them in the gym - so i was trying to think of routes to practice on outside. the only routes i can think of is Creature Feature and Jet Lag. what other beginning/moderate routes (5.10 and under) have roof pulls that would be worth practicing on?

I would think doing a lot of pull-up would help you prepare for pulling a roof on a route. Might not do much for the fancy footwork, but who needs foot work when you can campus. What do I know...I don't climb anymore.

There are always easy routes that pull roofs at Rockquest Josie. Just look around...

The key is staying balanced while getting your feet high. Leverage.

The direct start of Ledgends of Limonite 5.8 at Great Wall in Muir (if you can reach it) isn't too bad.

Reach the Beach, Bushwacked,Nutty route at Lower Skybridge. Just be carefull, lots of us have trashed our shoulders on such moves.

Theres Normalised Bramapithecus and the Unknown I at Volunteer wall, and Rorschach Inkblot if you're begging for punishment. As Kirker mentioned, Moonshine is great for the grade and Return of Manimal is good too. Also check out Momma Cindy for a soft 11 after you smoke Legends.

Are you too weak, bad technique, or is it your lead head? Or all three?

i feel your pain josie; i currently HATE roof pulls and bulges. one that is really easy is about half way up "tall cool one." you can go just about any way you want on that thing and all the holds are GIGANTIC! might be a good one to practice on with many variations and fight whatever is your weakness.
