hats off to the ladies

Post by Winterstorm »

Congrats to Danica Patrick for becoming the first woman to win a major indy car race, the Indy Japan 300
Also to Ashley Force for taking the points lead in NHRA funny car division, another first for a woman.

Cool to see women competing at the elite level of their chosen sport and getting the job done

Can you imagine the ride in a funnycar? Like sitting in a missile.

I never had much interest in drag racing, but the numbers are mindblowing. Zero to 100mph in under one second. And if you're sitting at the line in a top fuel dragster and give a Z06 Corvette a running start, let's say he blows by you at 180 mph with you sitting still. Drop the clutch, and the dragster will pass the Vette before it reaches the quarter mile mark, at something like 335mph. Shit!

Cmon pigsteak, the anchors are right at the bottom of where the crack gets "hard". I think we should start this in the red.

Anchors at the 3rd bolt of Wild Yet Tasty. The new line is called Wild Yet Pasty - 5.8(S).

Anchors at the 6th on Tuna Town. The new line is called Tuna Village - 5.11b(S).

Any others you can think of?

Dean Potter did this climb in 2003 has only seen 3 accents, she is the third assent considered to be 13+, I am sure the anchors are just a belay station since when she got to the top she base jumped to the bottom.

Don't tell the "top gun" or NASCAR boys, but on average, women have faster reflexes, higher pain tolerance and withstand high g forces better than men. In other words, if they could get over their "being less stupid than men" problem, women would likely dominate the ranks of auto racing and piloting fighter jets.
