Well first I thought it was an April Fool's, but too many serious sources are saying it was a go. A dude named Alex Honnold Barefoot Free Soloed Moonlight Buttress in Zion! What takes most noobs a few days to aid he did without any gear save for a chalk bag in an hour and change. This has pretty much blown up the envelope. That isn't bomber Yos granite up there, it's sand! .12d 5-600 feet off the deck. Any takers for the second Free solo? Might be able to leave the chalk bag behind to do it in better style.

Not that it would diminish (if you look at it that way) the accomplishment at all, but from what I heard, he approached and decended barefoot, the climbing part involved shoes.
I remember watching Alex climb at the Lode. The kid is super smooth, and has endless stamina. He has been killing the trad climbing lately, downgrading 13d trad routes to 13a.
