Potter's new sport

Post by schwagpad »

Dean Potter has "invented" a new sport: Baselining. That's very high slacklining with a parachute backup. It made it on nytimes.

Man, why does that guy have all the good ideas. I want to invent my own sport. The key seems to be to combine two extreme sports in such a way to make a catchy compound word. Baselining (I guess slackjumping wasn't cool enough), kitesurfing, kiteboarding etc. What's next?

Basesoloing - with sonnie trotters extension to deep water basesoloing - has not really been explored (probably because its not much safer than freesoloing.

Kiteclimbing? Under the right conditions I might be able to climb 5.16 that way.

Kitelining? You want very little wind in this sport.

Slackboarding? It may sound stupid to strap a board to your feet and do a slackline, but it certainly takes skill.

ok... I'm really running out of ideas. help.

what about basejumping, or even just plain ol' parachuting, onto a slackline? or even better...using one of the 'birdman' suits to mount a slackline? birdlining...now that is the future!

Baselining. Didn't Richard Pryor have a horrible accident doing that once?

Actually, I think "flatlining" is the raddest x-treme sport out there. And it has been around since 1990...

What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.
