Death yesterday

State police are investigating a man's death at the Red River Gorge, in Wolfe County.

Police said the victim is an Estill County man, but his name has not been released. Detectives are still working to figure out exactly what happened, but a witness told police the victim climbed over a safety barrier on Chimney Rock, and fell over the edge.

Crews are expected to be on the scene for several more hours working to recover the body. The man fell into a very remote location, police said.

He climbed over the rail, so he must be a climber.

wow, we used to do that in high school, there were a lot of cool nooks to climb into around chimney top. You can send them this link to help find the guy

i worked with a gut a few years back that went out there with a big group. two of them hopped the rail to "climb" around and one kid fell to his death.
