Climbing resources

Started this thread as a place to put links to some climbing resources--articles, sites, etc. Add as you will.

The first is a potential addition to the RRC Museum...an article by Katie that was in last year's April issue of "Kentucky Living" magazine. Uploaded the images to a free site, since I'm not sure of the best way to submit here. (Help, Ray?)

If you click on the link and get NSFW junk and popups...sorry...this machine is pretty secure and I don't see 'em.

Link: http://myimg.info/gallery/?gid=rgh1204002960i

To use them, click on the thumbs, and even though the result is resized for showing in your browser, the images are saved at roughly 1200 x 1600.

Link to the online article, sans photos: http://www.kentuckyliving.com/article.a ... ssueid=288

Link to a supplement to the article: http://kentuckyliving.com/article.asp?a ... ssueid=288

P-Nut and Pete are the climbers in this spread. It's cool to see them on here and the mag. too, which has the largest circulation of all mags in Kentucky.

All the above. *grin*

Two cool mashups:

http://www.wunderground.com/stationmaps ... 80&zoom=10

The second one works best with a fast connection--and if you click on "Map" and max out the number of radar frames.

If you're new to climbing, Wikipedia has a good entry:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climbing

If you are planning to travel, this buried link on world climbing grades is handy:

Thanks, I missed it. I wonder if it'll air again....

Meanwhile, the weather channel has a bunch of cool clips like this one on Dan Osman ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Osman):

Saw that show last night. Good show. Really makes you want to take a trip out west.
