so two weeks ago i hit my cuticle on a gym hold. got a blood blister and that was it; for a few days. it then developed another blister on top and got red. drained it, got better, healed shut, and got worse. i'm now on my second round of Antibiotics( this batch non-penicillin based) to try and cure it. there are now three maybe four small blisters on my middle finger which points to staff infection. in short.
WASH YOUR HANDS!!! especially at the gym after you climb.

I had to go on a round over a spider bite two years ago. the bump didn't do anything for a week then over night it streaked all the way up my arm with little bumps. Luckily the first round of antibiotics cured it.

There have been a rash of staph infections at the schools in the district I cover for work...and they wonder why I show up in a hazmat suit for the board meetings. One of them was apparently caused by some jerks in the locker room sharing deodorant! ew.
Guess in hindsight it was not a good idea to have my tattoo done in the boys high school locker room, for various reasons.

gym holds are perfect bases for bacteria. add to it the nasty bastards you see coming out of the bathroom with chalk all over their hands because they didnt wash .... reason enough to build your own wall.

Just remember, MRSA has always existed since evolution doesn't exist.
