CO2 Emmisions
* Emissions worldwide increased 18.0%.
* Emissions from countries that signed the treaty increased 21.1%.
* Emissions from non-signers increased 10.0%.
* Emissions from the U.S. increased 6.6%.
In fact, emissions from the U.S. grew slower than those of over 75% of the countries that signed Kyoto.
Another fuckin Bush/Cheney plot to make the signators to the Kyoto Accord look bad. What won't the motherfuckers stoop to.
Fuck'n Bush
Sources for those stats???????
I think you can Blame Pelosi and Dingell for this one but go ahead and give credit to the administration in my lifetime that's most deserving of impeachment.
It is a nice bill though, thankfully he didn't veto it. I guess he didn't consider it nearly as dangerous as health care for children.

Larry, sources are rather critical when evaluating data integrity. Especially when it's something you have quoted... You're not exactly objective.
Here's a random site that suggests a dramatically different scenario:
http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/env_c ... -emissions
You should know by now that statistics can be manipulated to read anyway the presenter pleases. Or outright fabricated.

"You're not exactly objective." I'm not objective? Lodge your complaints at www.census.gov, that's the source.
"You should know by now that statistics can be manipulated to read anyway the presenter pleases." Ah, but that doesn't mean that these figures are false. Do some research if you don't trust the .govs.
But seriously, don't any of you believe that the evil Bushies have put a lid on U.S. carbon emissions just to discredit those Kyoto signers who "really care" about the environment, though not enough to actually do something about their carbon emissions. Shit, I'd sign a commitment to reduce our carbon emissions to zero tomorrow. It would be so easy to do. I suspect that Bush may not be able to write in cursive. Maybe that's why he won't sign.

Pru - No, really. I have no idea if the gov. is feeding us bogus numbers on CO2 emissions or not, though these figures are being pretty widely reported by people who obviously think they're reasonably accurate. I just wanted to see what kind of unhinged responses I'd get. Shamis takes the cake with his "US war machine" crap in the first response. Sorry you didn't win.
