Well, he's almost twice as popular as Congress. Jimmy Carter was the worst president ever, hands down. And I voted for the incompetent S.O.B.

Carter was just too nice of a guy, he tried to do too many things for too many people and ended up failing at everything.

Congress is pathetic though, and rightfully rated lower than bush.

Larry - look into those poll numbers on Congress. When polsters ask why people disapprove of Congress, what do they say?

Jimmy Carter may have had his faults, but at least he was visionary enough to realize that energy dependence was a strategic threat to the United States.

When Reagan came to office he basically eliminated any government investment in R and D for alternative energy sources.

Arguably (and I guess I would concede ironically considering the cold war and everything) Reagan did more to undermine American security with his pro Detroit, pro Houston policies.

not to mention his racist perpetuation of the welfare queen myth, the homosexual aids myth (how many deaths because of this lie . . .?).

We won´t even go into the death squads in El Salvador, Nicaragua or the training of dictators at the school of the americas.

Carter ain´t got nothin´on Reagan. . .

Everyone realizes that energy dependence is a strategic threat to the United States. Problem is, nobody in power (democrat or republican) really has the courage to do anything about it.

true,

The most important issues facing our country right now and always is the economy, and energy security. Both of which I think go together like JR and dog poo.

A lot of bad things are starting to come together in our economy right now and I am worried about the results. Value of the dollar, rising energy costs, Subprime crisis/housing crisis, HUGE national debt, Opec not wanting to use American currency, Gisel not wanting to use american currency, foreign investors wanting to sue over subprime rate freeze, and the list goes on and on and on.

I don't here to many politicians talking about this.
