Putting Together a First Aid Kit
Prior my little accident I always believed there was nothing tape and some Vitamin A couldn't cure, but now I'm not so sure. What do you consider as essential in a good wilderness first aid kit? Besides an ER doc of course. [/i]

if i could only have one thing though it would be rubber gloves 2pr. they can be made into a mask and will keep #1safe.
my kit that i carry (most times) as an emt-b
several band-aids from plain ol' to the knuckle type. about four of each.
one or two crevats. bandanas work as well. can be used for splints or bandages.
shears or a knife that is good and sharp.
benedryl, immodium a-d, ibuprofin, some neosporin, (polysporin (two ingrdiants instead of three) is less likely to cause allergic reaction) some sanatizing wipes, and iodine wipes.
a CPR mask, big or small and three pairs of gloves. you can stuff two pair into a film canister, tape it shut, and carry in your bag at all times.
some athletic tape. not an old manky roll either. a fresh roll just for the kit.
a flushing syringe at least 30 cc i beleave is the size of mine.
space blanket
if you use an epi-pen, CARRY IT!! i have ran into a few people that have one and don't carry it. not smart.
these are the basics i would carry for a day at the crag where EMS is only a short ways away. splints and other such items can be made or rigged from available material.
i have a bigger kit for groups and multi-day outings, but this kit shouldn't take up too much space.
