So, for my biology class, we had to read this article on athletes using creatine supplement to improve their athletic preformance. Has anyone heard of it? Maybe used it? Not for climbing, necessarily, but for any kind of sport. What's your take on it?

Creatine's been around forever. IIRC, it basically increases the water absorption of your muscle cells, allowing them to grow larger over time.
Lots of weight lifters use it. Not so much climbers -- we're not try to get huge lean muscles.

Right, right. I understand the affects of it. My question is if you all think it's a good idea or a bad idea, and why.

the main negative side effects that I know of are that using it can hurt you bodies own ability to create natural creatine.

No it doesn't. Studies have shown that the body reverts back to pre-creatine loading production after supplementation is stopped.

Studies have also shown that ejaculation reduces the incidence of prostate cancer. There is a reason to do or not do anything.
