Sure would love to go. Too bad I have to save my money to buy beer and pork chops for the climbers coming to the SoIl gathering.

I looked on the waterstone outdoors web site, but didn't see a WHOLE LOT of info on registering for things (such as the kayaking expo, which I am considering purchasing this Summer). The only registration info I saw was on the acrobat form for the clmbing/boulding events. What about the pull-up and sumo comps (heh-heh, still need more practive to actually think about competing in something requiring ability and not brute strength). Are these things a "just show up, or "register at location" deal? And what about the food. Are the meals going to be provided couresy of the sponsors (not exactly clear from the info I read)? Looks like fun and the New is only about 3.5 hours from Cinci (I mean, free camping...come on!! ). I'll be taking the mtn. bike too and making a hella-cool weekend out of it.

I thought it took close to 5 hours to get there from Cincy?
Do they have a cost list? I couldn't find one on the website either? Lynne, any ideas?

Nah, you can hop on the AA (HW 9) and run that all the way to 64 west of Huntington, then 64 as it turns into the toll road (I don't reccomend using 60, as it goes through 35 mph Deliverance type residential areas) then 612 and 19N to Fayettville. The whole trip is showing 3:48 and 251 miles on my Delorme Street Atlas program.

The .pdf file you can download has costs to enter the bouldering and climbing comps, but that's it. No other info is provided on registering on the .pdf registration form that I could see.

The AA a highway is the quickest way, the only problem is if you go that way on fri evening it can be covered up in traffic and can really slow you down. i have been this way many times. it is pretty quick late at night or real early in the morning.the last time it took about 4.5 hours from cincy plus 2 hrs for this hoosier to get from indy to the AA. just depends on the traffic.

Well, if you're following the AA's posted 55mph, then maybe 4.5 hours, but one can easily get away with 62mph w/o hassle. I drove my Jeep out to trailer home a Motorcycle I bought and met the guy at the Hico intersection on 60. The only part that slowed me down was 60 (which is why I dont' reccomend it), because it was a crappy 2-lane with 35 mph limits of "hill-jack" towns with broken cars and trailers. I didn't go on Friday, so I can't speak to that part of it.
