I am heading down in the morning (saturday) I need to climb. My wife was going but I think she's coming down with some illness. Anyway, that leaves me without a partner. Anyone out there need a partner or just will allow me to tag along? If Jenee does not get too sick, she may still climb but Just in case.

NO BOULDERING......DAMMMIT!! I'll see you at the shell and we'll talk. thanks Wes. I will still consider someone who wants to tie in to a rope, place gear and get up the rock. Jenee may still come but it will be a last second thing

Sorry man, but I just got a new Misty Mtn. Magnum crash pad (
http://www.mistymountain.com/magnum.htm), and must try it out this weekend. Bouldering is good for you. I think that if there was a bouldering area as nice as Grandmother, HP-40 or Rocktown at the red, I would rarely even rope up.

Bouldering will make you stronger.
I'm positive it was bouldering all winter that got me off the plateau I've been on the last three years.
You working in WDC this weekend, Wes?

I don't deny that bouldering Makes you stong. It's difficult and most things difficult make you better. I climb for many reasons but the biggest reason is just traveling up the rock...getting higher and higher. It gives ma a sense of adventure. the second biggest reason I climb is I just like gear. I like plaving it and using it to get around in a vertical world. Bouldering does not give me any of that. I don't mind pain as long as the pay off is deemed worthy of the pain. Getting to the top of a problem only to let go an fall back to earth is not a good pay off for the pain it took to get there.
I usr to hate sport climbing, I like it more now. Bouldering will be a much harder sell. I climb for enjoment and personal challenge, The challenge is there in bouldering, i just don't enjoy it.

Maybe...sounds like fun. Ray has to work tomorrow for he-doesn't-know how long. I'll call you later once I talk to him again. He should be home tonight around 6pm or so.

Hefe, it is all about the journey, not the destination.
Artsay, I think we are meeting at Shell around 9:00. Lot's of hard climber chicks will be there.
