a friend was asking me if there is any fishing at the red.

i don't fish.

any suggestions?

Theres trout fishing out 9b but it's heavily restricted. Miguel will know places you can just go and drop a pole. He likes fishing.

mill creek lake has decent small mouth, trout and a decent amount of catfish. mill creek itself has some great trout fishing. depends on who it is josi, they can fish off our bridge or get in the creek on our land. like ynot said, 9a/b area has been stocked and is very popular for trout. the red itself will produce small mouth and trout worth eating. with temps as hot as they are i would not recommend just coming to the red to fish. go early morning or late afternoon. the trout are very delicate and can die even after released. dont fish unless you plan on eating them. telll your friend to make sure they get their license, seen a lot of people get stopped.

I watched a guy pull a trout out of the creek across from miguels and down the way a few hundered feet.

Have you ever fished at Cable's up by 715? I've often wanted to stop in there when we quit early and see what its like.

i do pretty well trolling around the rest area. maybe your friend and i can alternate shifts.

The headwaters of Swiftcamp Creek have a small native brook trout population that can be fly fished. This is not very well known, but it is fact.

I like to find a nice large tree, sit down against it, and pull out my copy of Dr. Seuss' "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish". But it can really be done just about anywhere.
