This has probably been discussed before, but I'm interested after hearing abour rockclimbingdude's experience with a climber-prick. What's your most annoying experience with a partner?

I had a semi-partner once who you could just feel him wanting you to fall every time you were on a route that he just did. That is the worst.

I am with you overhung. The whole spraying to normal people that you are a rock climber is embarrasing.

My most annoying partner characteristic is them not wanting to climb as often as me. It took me almost a whole year of "maybe next weekend" to figure out there were other people out there that are just as passionate about climbing as me. God love ya.
The ray's, the wes's,michelle's,todds',dave's,andy's,casey's just to name a few that I know personally.

I get irritated with people that seem all psyched to climb and then don't wanna get on anything. They talk all week about how they really wanna work on some route and then give it one burn, get spanked, and don't touch it again. Another thing that bothers me is people that constantly complain about pain. Either suck it up and climb or just chill.

I'm with Stix and JR. Dayton is full of "gym climbers". Note to others: Climbing in a gym is not rock climbing. They don't want to make 2.5 hour drive to the red but they're always talking about wanting to go rock climbing.
All I have to say is, every trip to the red should be fun but if your one trip to the red is "super special complete with photos and stories for the kids" you are not climbing enough.
Oh, and I also don't like female partners with clothes are are too loose. Mmmmm....tights.....

I had a partner who would wait until you were about to lead a pitch and then start
giving unwanted advice on how you should be doing it his way. Any little thing would set him off, like he" hates tri-cams" or "carrying quick draws is stupid"or "double length runners? why the hell would you need those on this pitch".
He would be so adament about it that i'd get really psyched out, more because of his attitude than what he said. We were teaching ourselves how to lead trad at the time so it made getting up the nerve that much harder, negative people make the worst partners!
