If I was dangling behind you on a route with a camera in the last four months, you're probably in it (especially so, if your name is Power2U or Andrew or JeffKeeton). I just received it back from the printers and IT IS SHARP! 12" x 12" hardcover; heavy-stock, matte paper.

This was intended, first and foremost, as gift to myself, but a number of people have expressed interest in owning a copy (as one person put it, "How else will I prove to my grandkids I cranked that hard?!").

If you'd like to get a look-see at it (before convincing your spouse that it'd make a great anniversary present), I thought we'd do so over beers next Friday (July 20) here in Lexington. I'd send you the PDF book, but the file is too big to be sent as an attachment.

PM me.

Cheers,
Scott

Scott:

Have you thought of selling the book at Joseph Beth, Barnes and Noble, and other bookstores? People love books on Kentucky, and I'm sure that you would be successful in selling it to people.

I haven't pitched this to a publisher, who (I suspect) would be reluctant to publish an expensive book of photography for such a narrow--and, dare I say, less-than-flush--audience. I've secured a professional printer to run copies on an as-needed basis.

Of course, if you know of a publisher whose lookin to bankroll such a project, by all means, send them my way...

I might get in trouble for throwing her name out there but Sophie Binder her in St. Louis may have some publishers to suggest. She has been working on a book for some time and has done a lot of research on this both here and overseas. I won't just throw her email out there but will tell you that if you google her name, it will come up as a #1 or #2 hit. If you are series about it look her up. I would likely by one as well as several of the other St. Louis climbers.

Well, I could think of the University of Kentucky Press. They should be into all that Kentucky Stuff. Do you think Wolverine Publishing (ray's guide book) would be interested?

If you made a point to donate a percentage of sales to the PMRP or the RRGCC I'm sure it would sell very well!!!
