Let me clarify the rules...

I just noticed something disturbing.

In the following photo:

Image

There are no less than 3 crimps covered in magnesium carbonate (chalk).

This is a crack climb, and using face holds, especially with "chalk", is a severe infraction of the trad rules.

I trust that Michelle, knowing the rules, did not taint her ascent by using said crimps.

Please refrain from use of face holds on all gear protected routes.

If a route is mixed, face holds are only "in" while climbing within 12 feet of a bolted anchor, and not within 8 feet of traditional protection.

Thanks for your compliance.

Synchro who?

Its only 5.7+ anyway, so it hardly counts.

Laybacking is only cool if you're usin hexes.

Laybacking is the ultimate cool. Not always so smart, but it's the cool of the old school.
