Looking To Climb Harder Routes

I am fairly new to climbing and am lookink to move up to the 5.10a range. Does anyone have suggestions on a good first 10a lead climb? :?

tectonic/johns wall has a lot at that grade that are well bolted and run a little soft.

manic impression (bring a REALLY long stick clip if you're nervous about how high the first bolt is)

rat stew or any "10a" in muir valley

May I suggest anything with the grade of 9+

and just remember to not spray about any 10a you climb in Muir, because it is really a 5.8 at best....(that's what the snooty police want you to believe anyway...)

Don't worry so much about grade. Rather find climbs 7,8,9,10 whatever. That challenges you and run as many laps as you can everytime you go out and you'll find over time 10's will be easier over time.

If that doesn't satisfy your question hit the popular routes search. You'll find most of the easier ten have the most traffic. Good luck :wink:

If you are wanting to break into the 10 grade I would suggest trying some 10b's too. One idea for you, go to Phantasia, warm up on Creep Show, then do Overlord & Pogue Ethics.
