Liberal Bias Cont'd

So the right wing has been screaming for the last fifteen or twenty years about how the "liberal media" is ignoring them blah, blah, blah. Stupid motherfuckers won't be happy until the only thing on the media is their propaganda and lies because if you do any realistic accounting of right v. left on the media you'll find, SURPRISE!, that the right's views are reported in equal amounts if not more (usually more) than the opposition, even if it's something as simple as a scientific fact. This skews the fuck out of the discussion since, for instance, there are about five "scientists" that claim(ed) that global warming was fiction while hundreds of thousands disagreed. Giving equal time to these king of morons isn't fair or balanced, it's bullshit. Same goes for giving equal representation to the "Creationists" as to those that agree with the theory of evolution. Creationists are a relatively small group of lunatics that scream like a stuck pig if you point that out, so they're given equal voice in the news. What the fuck is wrong with this country that we can't just give these dumbfucks the single line they deserve: "Some fringe groups disagree."?

But as this study documents, coverage of religion not only overrepresents some voices and underrepresents others, it does so in a way that is consistently advantageous to conservatives.

I agree especially if you equate stupid motherfucker with Al sharpton then you would have nailed it. Read the First Casualty a fine book about journalism that was based on the reporting of the Boer War, the truth left the planet a long time ago, perhaps when Pilate washed his hands.

I have decided to try being a fundamentalist right wing republican conservative for a week or so just to see what it is like - in order to give myself a fair-and-balanced view. My first observation as a FRWRC is that I am way lots better and smarter than anybody else and could care less what anybody thinks about anything. (hey this is fun!)

KD the world has enough of what you describe although I would certainly rather have you walk past my car if it had a Bush/Chaney sticker because the well heeled and knowledgeable liberal scum would be soo enlightened as to key it. Its often better to sit back and let people provide all the ammo necessary to prove they're an idiotic closed minded asswipe than to go out of your way to prove it, for instance, all your little buddies in Mexico who heckled and booed the Miss USA contestent in the recent Miss Universe pageant, give a small pox burrito but then again it would be here before night fall.

Quoting Media Matters on liberal bias is like quoting Larry Flint on taste. Larry never saw a tasteless beaver shot. Even when it was staring him right in the face.

I think your estimates are unbalanced, other than the few pro right programs (fox, Glen Beck etc. etc.) the left has dominated the free press. The very nature of news is to report the truth, unbiased, unfortuneatly, thats a total fucking farse. I'm not talking about pro left or pro right dominant shows, I'm talking about fucking reporters, celeberties, and other famous/semi famous wannabes getting air time and spewing forth they're ignorance on the rest of it like it's fact, especially when it's fiction. I cannot count the times I have heard a reporter add they're biased political agenda in they're report, or like when Alec Baldwin decides to share his higher form of intelligence with the rest of us. Most of those people are so detached from the real world it's frightening, and they sit on high and tell us whats wrong in our lives based on they're leftist points of view. I don't think the right really wants more media attention, just less media bias

The idea that the media is not predominantly left is one of the most absurd of absurd libbie stories.
