electric,
lol, my friend, you are fighting a losing battle. the same people who dog on mainstream religous views will espouse some mother nature, commune loving, do no harm, ,metaphysical, yoga rapture, spiritual mindset..it is amazing that the folks who blast Christianity will turn around and talk about a "connection" to nature (with no scientific proof), will talk about a "love" for a person or place (again, a non scientific phenomenon), will say that "good vibes" are being sent (yup, not a scientific phenom folks) out, etc....
next time one of your (insert favorite footwear) teva, keen, merrell, crocs, la sportiva sandal wearing "brahs" gives you an earful of anything not based on concrete evidence, smack them upside with a recycled granola bar.
if held up to the same scientific scrutiny, their "spiritual beliefs" are fruitier than a box of Fruit Loops...

Hey Piggie - I've got a recycled granola bar waiting for the next time I see you. You mother nature, commune loving, do no harm, metaphysical, yoga rapture, spiritual espouser. Quit sending good vibes my way. Also, your favorite footwear makes me very uncomfortable.

Piggy, there is a big difference between respecting someones views and laughing at ridiculousness. A belief in a higher power is actually quite rational as there is much about the world that is unknown and we need it to fill in the gaps. However, to say that the earth is only 6000 years old, and that Adam and eve lived with the dinosaurs is not rational and actually quit laughable. The same goes for all the metaphysical hippy crap, as silly as it can sound, I know very few people who can not describe what felt like a metaphysical connection to another being or god or nature itself, therefore I can see the rational for believing in such. However, unlike the creationism museum, I would like to try to justify any metaphysical beliefs I have with science, rather than stubbornly ignore what is presented to me. In fact, knowing that the earth is about 4.5 BILLION years old, the creationist would likely do better to work that into there beliefs somehow rather than dismissing all rational evidence and displaying adam as a dinosaur slaying spear chucker
