The author and his book were profiled on Kentucky Life a few days ago. It repeats so watch for it. Awesome pictures. You could tell he loves the Red even More than we do.

We're happy to report that Yasmeen has received her book. Plus, the man himself, Photographer John W. Snell has sent us a message and 'ynot' above was correct. Find out how to see the Kentucky Life segment online - -

"Thanks for publicizing the book and the contest in such fine fashion and for letting me know who was the winner. I'm sure she was pleased.

I had intended to pass along some of the following sooner ... especially the first part, but have been swamped with other responsibilities. If you can post any or all of it on the RRS website, I would appreciate it.

You may be aware of the 'Pedals and Blooms Bicycle Festival' taking place in Beattyville, Stanton and Campton this weekend (June 8-10). I'll have a booth in Beattyville on Friday and Saturday to sell my RR Gorge books and photographs. Booth hours will run from 10 a.m. until around 9 pm. I thought I'd mention it in case there might be some folks who'd like to see more of my work that's available in a variety of sizes, or if they want to purchase a book ... or if they want to just stop by and chat about the gorge or photography. I know this is late notice, but getting ready for these events usually leaves little time for publicizing them.

Also, KET's "Kentucky Life" program last weekend featured, among other things, a 9-minute segment about me and the Red River Gorge book. It includes footage they taped of me last autumn at Creation Falls and at the Chimney Rock overlook.
A replay of that program can be seen online. Go to:

scroll down to show #1318 and click on the little symbol to the left that looks like an eyeball."

Enjoy the day!
John

I saw Jerrell Goodpasters book at Gall's yesterday, forgot the title "Passages or Interludes" something like that it's a single word title, appeared to be a nicely detailed hiking guide if you know someone who needs one
