Does anybody have beta on where to purchase foam padding to put down in your car for car camping? I want to buy some for my Civic, so a bouldering crash pad isn't an option because I want it cut to fit into the trunk/back of the car when the back seats are folded down.

You should try a crash pad.

i have two-inch thick tempurpedic topper you use.. you'll want something harder as a base, though. something simple like even a thermarest might do..

Sleep with one eye open, Andrew.

Thanks, Paul - that might do the trick.

don't go for a heavy gauge memory foam, when the weather plummets they turn to rocks. where to buy stuff? those bed bath and beyond places often have sales on stuff like that...where do people buy the egg crate thingies for college?

they've always been just fine. if anything they're a little stiff when you first lay down but you're body warms them up in a couple minutes. i've never had any troubles with them..

I drive the streets looking for carpet padding that has been thrown away...get 2-3 layers of that stuff, disinfect it, and you have a free bed.

Thanks for all the suggestions-- so far, goodguy's takes the lead; but the rest (that come from people who are not Andrew) will not be disregarded!
