Many people like to tell you they are "green" when it comes to the way they live. As climbers I believe that us telling others that we are enviromentally friendly is a bunch of non-biodegradable shit. Just about every part of our sport is oil based. From the cars we don't car pool in to the ropes and draws we leave hanging everywhere, (they look so natural) we are some of the worst. So before you yell at me for killing a frog or burning a tire, tie into your hemp rope and shove it.
Not to mention cliffs grid-drilled and bolted and smeared with chalk. The chalk would probably go away in a few years, but how many thousands of years will it take to wear away the rock and erase the drill holes?
I agree, you got people with cell phones ipods nylon this nylon that driving hours to go climbing-- ranting and raving about the environment.
Give me a freaking break..
I thought this thread was gonna be about kermit the frog or maybe cheech & chong so thanks for outing those wannabe tree huggers!
