A Beacon for Humanity
It never ceases to amaze me the complete lack of respect that people have for their fellow humans.
Case in point.
My buddy and I were at his parents farm last week teaching his little cousin to lead. The property has a creek going through it and has a pretty fun little 30 foot wall on it that has a cool 5.7 and 5.8 routes on it.
A good day, good workout, good times. Eric's mother made a wonderful lunch. Things are going well. An all around awesome day.
On the way back to Louisville we stop at a Flying J to gas up and grab some dinner. After about an hour of Hoosier character studies we depart to grab some pale ales from our favorite watering hole.
When we get back to the car I notice an awful lot of broken glass that I'm pretty sure wasn't there when we parked. Sure enough someone had broken into Eric's car and stolen his CD collection, stereo, and both of our racks.
My rack's gone! Sure it wasn't a huge one, yet. But I had just started building it again and barely had a chance to use it.
The Indiana State Troopers are extremely helpful, and considerate. They still don't offer much comfort though, even though they have a 'very good recovery rate'.
The climbing gods are testing me lately. And I don't like it.
I just hope that you all take a look and how you treat other people, I doubt any of you resort
to petty theft (I consider it Grand Theft!) but the mentality of a thief and an asshole are about the same. It's the 'I don't know you and I don't care about you' mantra. Give a kind word to everyone you talk to, match it with a smile, help someone change their tire, pet a dog.
Doing little things like this can make a difference. Although I doubt that it will, but then again I'm very angry right now.
You all have a great week, I'm just gonna start saving up again so I can go on my road trip.
And to the fucking spineless piece of inbred shit that ripped off my rack, fuck you, may you slide down 1000 razor blades into a pool of rubbing alcohol while your mother-sister-cousin is raped by 100 Duke lacrosse players.

Sarcasm is a tool the weak use to avoid confrontation. People with any balls just outright lie.

Ugh, that's so shitty, gonzo. I hope the state troopers find your stuff. My mom's car got broken into while she was in class one day, and her briefcase was stolen - in it were some very important papers. The next day, she went to the police station, and they had the briefcase - turns out, whoever had stolen it realized a few blocks later that it wasn't a laptop and just left it sitting there on the sidewalk! I hope you experience similar luck.
That's funny - my cousin and I have this morbidly amusing game we play, Would You Rather. That was one of the choices in the very first round of Would You Rather, from about 15 years ago.slide down 1000 razor blades into a pool of rubbing alcohol

gonzobeer - Sorry about your loss. Most likely the creeps that took your stuff will get what's coming to them. But please don't slime the Dukies. Much as I love to hate Duke, it looks like there is no evidence whatsoever that any rape occurred, period. In fact the prosecutor is facing charges before the North Carolina Bar right now. My money is on him (Nifong) getting disbarred for ethical violations. He may even do jail time. Amazingly, even though rape charges have been dropped, there are still completely unsupported charges remaining against the Duke athletes. Google Durham In Wonderland if you want to follow one of the most fascinating stories on the web.
