IMO, the AMGA training is well worth the course cost, whether or not you plan to guide commercially. Jim Taylor is an excellent instructor and will be coming to the Gorge several times this year to teach the TRSM course at the AMGA training site in MV. For details, email Jim:

thanks y'all! on one day of the course it was 23 degrees for the high, with 5 inches of snow and the wind whipping. matt got to lead climb in that. whoa. i posted a few pics over at http://www.burtonadventures.com

it was a great course and indeed jim is a great instructor. i would echo rick in saying that it's worth taking the course even if you won't be guiding, especially if you climb trad in remote settings. it will make you a more well equipped climber for sure.

One more reason to admire those two!

JB, could you go up and get my keys off that 12 to the right of Roger Roger? I really need them.

Did you hear me?
