The Smiley Happiness Thread

Post by charlie »

Sometimes, when the self indulgence sinks in and I want to wallow in self pity and worry about my worries I get a little wakeup call.....

Like this week I was filling up at the gas station and this older brother and I were both kicking it to Sly and the Family Stone over the intercom. We looked at each other and said "thankyou 4 lettin me be mice elf."

That made my day.

Then, Ryan and VA were staying at my house this week and left for Rocktown yesterday. I got home from work and there was a note on my pad....

"Charlie, take me to Rocktown soon. Sincerely, your pad"

Sometimes it's the little things that bring the smile back. So, fucking smile you freaks!

It seems that once you feel you have lost everything, you realize that there is beauty in even the most mundane shit. for instance....
the cafeteria ladies gold teeth,
when your cat attacks your dogs face,
a cool breeze,
a womans smile,
a goth kids grimace,
the grass growing in the shade,
knowing that there are whole other lives going on in the planes above
and...........

A woman with snow in her hair....

(I feel a Sound of Music song and dance coming up)
You set my feet upon a rock
And made my footsteps firm.

Charlie rules. thanks man.

I like it when total stranger catches my eye and we smile or laugh for no reason, only because we can, and it's good.
The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own.
You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president.
You realize that you control your own destiny.
