First, a disclaimer. I hold no formal religious belief, but it's kind of funny watching good solid Americans slam the lunatic fringe of Christian belief while they keep mum about the head choppers among us, the people who believe it is their religious duty to slaughter as many "non believers" as they can. People who continuously act on these beliefs with considerable effect. These people are currently seeking the means to carry out their murderous intent on a scale that exceeds our most vivid horror movie imaginations.
Meanwhile, we've lost our appetite for fighting back. We'd rather pick on some pathetic but relatively harmless nutjobs than recognize the threat from truly dangerous religious fanatics. Understandable, I guess, as free speech is "speech that doesn't offend people you are afraid of".
You want to get pissed off? Watch the videos of radical muslims training their baby children to do mass murder in the name of what they think is god.

Raised to hate can't be good. The mind is already closed. Looking down upon anyone for that matter is similar.
dyno heaven - Telling gays they can't marry = "relatively harmless" and a reversible decision.
Chopping a person's head off because they're gay = definitely harmfull and, for all practical purposes, an irreversible decision.
