Was 9/ll really that bad?

It's this kind of thinking out of the new Left that makes old time liberals such as yours truly want to puke. Honestly, anyone that thinks that getting bent out of shape over the murder of innocent Americans is "overreaction" until there are 20,000,000 dead is out of his freaking mind.

I liked it a lot. Great article and something to consider. Put everthing into the historical context that the author presents and he has a great argument and point.

LOL Maybe its more fun to beleive all the 911 conspiracies...then nothing from the above article really even matters.

last...isn't it very "liberal" to have a quick and emotional responce to the article? No offense here Day. Pigsteak, can you elaborate on this idea of hyper emotions being a mark of a liberal :?:

His position is not shaky. The United States as a nation has not suffered domestic losses in any war since the Civil War and the idea that 3k people died in one day equals the eventual destruction of our nation is a stretch. How many people in this country die each day from socially created problems such as obesity and pollution? All the terrorists have to do is leave us to ourselves. We are doing a great job at killing ourselves without their help.

I smell publish or perish and yes it is quite feminine or liberal your choice to react emotionally to an article like this or a spider

Hey the truth hurts. It's all blown out of proportion. Our side has killed many people outside of wars. Some are our own citizens. Ruby Hill, Waco, etc. Americans think that it is terrible that Iragi's, insurgents, what have you continue to fight with our troops. Picture yourself in bed when all of a sudden dozens of men storm your town, shooting and killing, witrhout any order to it all. You have a gun, or a bomb, or whatever. What would YOU do in that situation?

Well if 3,000 Americans in a day doesn't matter, I wonder why the good people at the LA Times gets so uppity about 3,000 Americans dead in Iraq over 3 years.

hold all emotions for just two minutes, open your mind and then re-read the article.

Same old bull, its always Americas fault, we did this, we did that, I know we are not by any means innocent, but come on! Trying to compare the US to WW2 Russia is retarded, they were still in they're infancy as a country and had almost no military might early in the war before we got involved, after they got going they, and they're winter, pushed the Germans out. 911 was a single act, by a small group, in comparison to Hitler, and his well trained/supplied army, this was a small scale attack with a high body count. For the amount of people, weapons, and training that were involved in 911 they had a great result. In one sentence he states Russia lost x amount of people in the war, but they were fighting street to street, house to house, for years, we were attacked several times over the years and when 911 broke the camels back, we reacted accordingly. I suppose we should have gave them a stern talking to and tryed to be empathetic to they're needs, wake up, these people dont want to talk, thay want your heads, and will settle for nothing less, they also, based on culture and religion, have a deeply skewed sense of honor that we have stepped all over, they now have no way out, unless they kill us, or get killed by us. We cannot fix what was done, no reparations, no treaties, and no promises will fix this, you ever see Gladiator?? Remember what the Germanic tribes did to the Roman Messenger in the beginning, oh, thats right, having a head is over rated anyway......

a parallel? our feelings that our president is running a do it alone foreign policy while Iran's fool is running a do it alone nuclear policy- does Iran have a right to nuclear power? oh course... does the international community have a right to inspect their processes? gray area? would the world be a better place if Bush and armpitsmellyjock would have pursued differnet career paths?
