So, I just bought my first house and I have a two car garage with close to 12 foot ceilings so it's time to build a woody.

I'm using the guide on the Metolius site to design it and have a few layouts that I think I like. The next thing will be to get the holds.

I'm sure Metolius and Nicros are safe bets, but are there others that you guys like to use for home bouldering? I saw "voodoo", "atomik", and "synrock" on ebay but I don't think I have climbed on any of those (unless RockQuest has them somewhere and I didn't notice).

I'll end up with a 45 and 30 degree wall with a corner secondary wall that will be close to vertical. The 45 and 30 will be 8 feet wide each and probably 10 feet high with a kicker at the bottom. I hope that makes sense, maybe I'll scan in my sketch and post later.

Anyway, any help is greatly appreciated. I have some PayPal money to play with so I'm hoping for ebay but can really shop anywhere I guess.

soIll has some pretty sick holds that can be alot of fun, especially if you like crazy slopers.

they do have nice holds but their resin is pretty heavy and can chip kinda easy. I like 'em too though.

soil has nice holds but i personally think their website is a pain to use. be patient when ordering holds and never pay for faster shipping - most of the mfgs pour to order and you gotta wait for them to do that anyway so it sometimes can take a month. i had pusher take two months and a bunch of phone calls back when they were around. If you can visit a mfg and buy seconds - that is a good way to get a better price and selection. whenever i'm in bend i visit metolius and sometimes they have some pretty good seconds to sell. climbing walls can be a money pit real fast so get your checkbook out and ready!

have you used their holds bill ? they look pretty sweet. how well do they hold up ?

Anybody have experience with ebay for holds? How about putting the holds in the same dishwasher I put the dishes in?
