Personally, I seem to climb much better after a nice morning dump. While the Shell station and rest areas are nice, and helps with the approch, nothing helps send harder then dropping some extra weight at the crag after a warmup route. Shitting outside just seems to get that extra bit on out of there.

Man, the Shell bathroom can be NASTY sometimes. I went in there one day and it looked like someone had shit everywhere BUT the toilet. The only problem with the rest area is that sometimes the stall doors don't lock properly and you will have the occasional dumbass barge in on you without doing a feet check first.

there's nothing i prefer more than a nice long conversation with my woodland friends on the hike in to a crag. something about hiking with a pack makes my bowels rumble.

I'm a home body....I guess I'm stuck in a routine. When I first got into climbing I was in that college drunk phase of my life or something and I just didn't want to give up any of my favorite past times. A night of drinking, crashing out on someones couch, getting up waaaay to early to go climb, visiting the room at home, at the rest area, and in the woods......good times.

I'm a Shell girl myself, I'll go in the woods if I have to, but in my humble opinion, indoor plumbing is a beautiful thing.
