New Online Guidebook Maps
New Online Guidebook Maps
I'm working on some new maps for the online guidebook. I've only done one for Roadside and would love some feedback before doing any others. The application I'm working with (SketchUp) is cool as heck.

Thanks Ron! I think it's really awesome too!
I'm looking for feedback on clarity. There's no north arrow or title and I'm opting to leave them out (shadows do a better job than a north arrow?). I've condensed the route numbers but it reads better, I think (?).

man, as the resident jerkwad, I'd love to hammer on this, but holy crap, that is super sweet! you rock michelle. the only suggestion I would have: is there the possibility of showing changes in the walls, from slab to steep?
and can we have a place holder where all pigsteak FA's can be posted in pink?

You and Ray truly are nerds in love, computer nerds that is That is a pretty cool map. Are you drawing it freehand from your knowledge of he crag or mapping from a real topo?
I think for an area like the Southern Region that you could map, for example, from the Gallery all they way to Purgatory as that is pretty much a continuous cliff line, sweet.

Lest we all forget... climbing is a mostly meaningless pursuit that we do for fun.

Again, you give me a nice hard stiffy. Hmmm. I think I'd rather see the north arrow so I can see when certain walls get sun since right now it seems to be fixed in morning mode. Also, can you add other features like the waterfall and Chunnel (NOT "THE PEE CAVE")? How about using two arrows or something to show where sets of routes end? i.e. Where 2 and 5 are so we know how far they extend down the wall. Would it be worth compromising accuracy if you straightened the curve by the alternate approach trail then you could rotate it clockwise and get a better view of where 13-32 are? Either that or add a break. That's all for now. Will all the others be out by next week?
Ticking is gym climbing outdoors.
