Sherman and the Wayback Machine II

Post by Curmudgeon »

Works been sucking me dry, but this
weekend I did manage to hike the Douglass
Trail and scramble up to the rockhouse (Now
posted and closed) with my G/F.

Some observations:

Touristas are still the most dangerous species in the Gorge!

I asked the fella jumaring up by the waterfall if he had climbed
Foxfire around the corner, and he said "Nah, we don't climb!" :o

Unfortunately, I had forgotten my usual trashbag in my pack, so the
normal picking up the detrious on the way back had to wait. I remember
when Bill Wade and I found a queen size matress at the last campground
before starting up the logging road to the climb ... Amazing !!!

I did finally got some more videos transcribed from VHS.

Be gentle on muh server and "SAVE AS" if you will ...

" When we're 70, we will be still climbing, it's just that we will be doing 5.4's and smiling like old fools! "

Actually he had a ground fall in NC a few years back and broke his back,
so he is semi-retired from climbing. He is refurbishing a victorian house
in South Carolina somewhere and enjoying his grand kids.
