Thanksgiving crowds?

Thanksgiving crowds?

I was hopeing some locals would be able to tell me if the week of thanksgiving is very crowded (for climbing) because everyone has vacation time around then. If that is the case we will schedual our trip for the beggining of nov. and my yonger brother who is still in school will just be SOL. Any info. will be appriciated thanks.

Thanks guys. not to crowded compared to other week that time of year or not that crowded compared to labor day week end?

no where near the labor day weekend crowd. last year i remember eating thanksgiving dinner at miguels and dont think there was that many people around. weather will play a huge part. dirty south pure climbing is on that time of year so that takes away a lot of the crowd.

Regardless of the crowd, you can ALWAYS find deserted crags at the Red....

AND if they aren't deserted, you will find some great folk there!

With Miguel's parking lot overflowing in both directions by several hundred feet, I managed to not see another group of people last Memorial Day. You just have to go to the right crags (read: climb trad).

I climbed the day after Tday and the weather was fantastic. It was blistery cold in Lex, but super warm in the sun at the crag and the rock felt great.

And dhoyne, we had Roadside all to ourselves. Imagine that.
