Hi I'm an intermiediate sport climber who is taking his begginer brother to The Red this weekend. I've taught him all the basics at the gym and our local outdoor choss heap, plus a couple more advanced tricks but this is the first time it will be for real. I'm looking for a good place with easy climbs to build his confidence (5.6-5.8) does anyone have any suggestions?
places I've thought about:
Torrent falls (only has two begginer climbs)
Muir Valley?
Roadside?

Yup - third that. Practice Wall is full of stuff that will engage but not intimidate a beginning climber. Bruisebrothers has a couple longer moderates for beginners who want a cool view from the top.

bruise bros is where I started and it was a great place for me to start. So it sounds like muir is the best bet

maybe if I fourth or fifth or sixth the muir suggestion the original poster will finnally believe the first response. becuase i suspect that they won't belive anything said on this board until at least 5 people verify that the info is accurate.

I haven't climbed at Practice Wall it looks like there's some stuff there though. Muir is probably your best bet for a larger concentration of easy sport routes. You'd probably get more routes in there. There are other sport routes that are easy, but they are a little spread out. Roadside is nice, but always crowded. Eureka (Lady Slipper-Global Village) might be my favorite 5.6 bolted line in the Gorge. Fun even if you climb harder, and it might be the longest 5.easy route that I know of. Hit it up on the way to the beer trailer....
