Hello everyone,

As many of you know the Will Climb For Jeremy comp is going to be taking place very soon. The date has been moved to August 19th for logistical reasons. The comp location is still being determined and as soon as I know where this will be held I will announce it on here. It may be in Cincinnati, or Columbus.

Anyone want to donate their gym for this? It will be a huge benefit for your gym. news media, and climbing journals want to cover this.

There might be something uber huge that could go down that would make this comp even more massive and cool. But I am keeping this under wraps until I have a confirmation. All I know is Jeremy will crap his pants!

Sponsors are sending extra stuff for Jeremy (clothing) which he so badly needs. T-shirts are a dire need since he drools so much and his shirts are wet all the time.

The comp is growing like mad. Sponsors are reaching out like crazy and the list of companies donating products, supplies, and support is overwhelming.

People I didn't even contact are sending me e-mails asking how they can help and what would I need to help make this event a reality.

So here is a list of who so far has joined in. Some of these companies are putting up over 500.00 worth of stuff alone, and this comp will have a massive raffle that will blow the mind.

So here goes:
Crater Holds
Evolv (Wow!!!)
Sterling Rope
Verve (WOW!!!)
Ale-8-One (WOW!!!)
Prana (Wow!!!)
Urban Climber Magazine
Five Ten
Climb-It
Cheap Holds
Franklin Handholds
Entre Prises
Climbing Magazine
Rock & ice Magazine
Frank Endo Chalk
StoneAge Climbing Holds
SoIll Holds
Y-Not Design
Red River Outdoors
Odub (Kris Hampton)
And more coming, please join in! Jeremy needs our help!

If you wish to help or make a donation please send me a note or mail anything (just don't send me any coal.. LOL) to:

That list of sponsors is really impressive, Tony! I'm psyched for you guys that this is going so well. I'm sure someone from Climb Time or RockQuest will see this post, but I'll bring it up to the owners next time I'm at either gym. Thanks for all your hard work, man. :)

If it is in Cinci, I might be able to make it. Otherwise, I'll send a donation. I don't know Jeremy, but I have three young people on caseload now in the same situation. You obviously have an honorable Spirit, Tony, my patients tell me that all their friends have abandoned them. Add my name to the thank you list!

Namaste!

Tony, I think this whole thing is great...

Jeremy has given (and continues to give) so much to the climbing community. It is awesome that sponsors, climbers, etc. see this and are willing to give back. It is amazing how incredible people can be sometimes. :D

Hey guys, This is Penny (Charlotte Malleys mom) As a lot of you know Jeremy lives with us. I have wanted to write or call so many of you and thank you for all the support that we have gotten. Like Dipis said "friends move on". We haven't seen that with J. When asked by some other parents of young people I meet at a support group that Jeremy and I went to, "what was our secret". I said I felt it has to do with climbing. Climbers look out for each other. I have also seen that with Char, her best friends are climbers of all ages.
So Thank you!!
I also wanted to let everyone know about the medical end of this and how it was going. Jeremy is getting better everyday. He does somthing new almost weekly. The therapist are very happy with his progress. He isn't walking yet but will soon. He can really cruise with a walker. He isn't really talking yet but he wasn't a big gabber before the accident. He spells well and that works for him. He has one of the best doctors in the world!! (really, the guys ranked like 5th in the world) and is getting his therapy through OSU Dodd Hospital. Also one of the best hospitals for TBI.
Next month he has a test to see if a Baclfin pump would work for him. Jeremy has very severe tone on his right side. He takes meds for it now but they make very tired and if increased could upset his stomach. The pump would send the med right to his spine and would help to get the use of his right side back. He still has long road to go. But the doctors and therapist say that J will be able to live on his own someday, maybe with some help, but they say his future looks very good.
Any money raised by this comp will go to hiring more therapist, trying alternative therapy and buying any equpment that Jeremy needs. Medicaid does not pay for everything and he could run out of therapy visits before he is ready.
Please keep thinking, praying, wishing good thoughts for him. I thank you and so does Jeremy.

one more thought, if we raise alot of money for J. we will need a lawyer to help set up a trust. Anyone know one? there has to be a climbing lawyer out there somewhere.
