Hey All,

Coming out in October for my first trip. Any suggestions on hotel/motels (clean, quiet, nice setting) and nearby lots of sport climbs (11s/12s).

I've got the guide, just kinda hard to tell from the little advertisements what's good and what's not.

Thanks in advance!
Paul

Lago Lindas is supposed to be real nice. Not a hotel, but a good camp ground and I believe there are cabins you can rent. Very close to lots of climbing.

Check out LagoLindas.com for more info.

Also, the Natural Bridge State Park has a very nice lodge and cabins. Might be a little high, and I would call now for a reservation. Good luck!
Sorry, I can't count to 11/12. :P

If you just want a regular motel room, there is a Travel Wise Inn in Beattyville (I think that is the name.) It is a standard, nice motel with standard prices. You can't miss it. It is on Highway 11 (the main road that goes by Miguel's) on the left as you go down the steep hill into Beattyville, next to the Dairy Queen. Maybe four miles from the Lode.

Here's a listing of accommodation for the extended area.

The listings for the Red River Gorge/Natural Bridge area are obviously the closest. I've stayed at the Campton Parkway Inn - it's not dirt cheap, but it's decent and clean. It's about 15 min. southeast of the Slade exit along the Mountain Parkway

The Natural Bridge State Resort Park Lodge (a motel in reality) is reasonably priced and centrally located (but it books up for weekends pretty quick):
