Bouldering near lexington

Post by gbarnett »

I'm fairly new to the area. I used to boulder quite a bit, but as far as I can tell there are no good boulder fields near lexington. I know there are lots of random problems scattered around at the red, but I haven't seen any major concentrations of boulders/bouldering.

So a question for the locals, what are the best bouldering area's near lexington (or not so near).

My 2 crash pads are getting dusty...

Clack! Go once the first frost kills all the bugs and it's all good.

Keep aware for the first day of modern gun deer season. Lots of hunters hunt near there so wear bright colors/blaze orange.
Screw you guys. I'm going bowling.

Rocktown (Ga) is not so near, but once it gets colder, that's the place, if you got an entire weekend, it's worth it
hey, if you yell to your belayer saying "why charles III, you are quite possibly the worst belayer ever" will he throw his tea on you?

There's a retaining wall near the Target on Nicholasville Road where I've seen people "buildering" Probably not what you are looking for tho.
I'm an experienced woman; I've been around... well, alright, I might not've been around, but I've been... nearby.

can't we get the state motto changed to "Kentucky: there is NO bouldering, so don't even ask"?

I beg to differ, as I am heading to do some of the best bouldering in the country, and it is only a 10 minute drive from my house! I mean, killer problems, DVD w/Surround sound, and A/C. What more could you want?

Says you. Ray sets problems that are as good or better then anything in bitchop, and the holds don't spin nearly as much.
