Dave Graham or Chris Sharma? (King Kong versus Godzilla)

Has anyone seen the new Dave Graham article in Rock and Ice? I guess it answers the question of who is the stronger climber, Graham or Sharma. The article claims that Graham has done over 140 5.14s which is twice as many as Sharma.

The dude is insane strong. So strong that Fred Nicole walks away when he sees him coming. He has repeated some of Nicole's V15s and downrated them. His outlook on ratings is interesting too. He said he is downrating things to keep the grading scale from jumping too quickly. Dave Graham is a freaking freak of nature man. The article is pretty inspiring.

sending twice as many of the same grade doesn't mean you are the stronger climber..just that you have more time on your hands  I would assume Sharma rarely ropes up, so sending 5.14 is not on his agenda as much.

Now, if Graham was sending many routes harder than Realization, we would talk. Last I heard, Sharma sent..Dave did not.

Yes, I am in the teeny bopper Sharma Rocks fan club.

It does mention something like Sharma has been seen in Esquire wearing a $1300.00 sweater, takes months off at a time, and has a peaceful demeanor whereas Graham climbs every day, is skinny, and would never wear a $1300.00 sweater in Esquire magazine. So yea, Graham climbs a ton more than Sharma but he did recently put up a 5.15a Coup De Graus (which he hints may be 5.15b) so he is on par with the Sharma 5.15 club.

paul, that is me in pain as graham passed sharma's high spot on the route.

SCIN, sharma is not a REAL climber. we all know that.

agreed..weak sauce. shouldn't there be an added letter grade for those of us over 180? why train when you can complain?

Sharma was in the New York Times magazine two sundays ago. It was a photo article of athletes hands. He said that sometimes his hands hurt so bad after climbing that he cn't sleep. But I agree with SCIN Graham is the man.

Screw this, let's talk Matt Massey vs Ray Ellington (Gonorrhea vs Syphillis). One is a silent killer that will swell your urethra and scorn you with a stinging sensation any time a car tries to drive down that splitter finger crack highway from hades. The other is a kind, gentle man, seen photographed with his two dogs in the back of the guidebook with a severe appetite for destruction -- destruction and lesions. Just when you think he's had his fill, that his appetite has been abated, the tempest sets in with the toxic mercury that toxicologists could only intoxify themselves with while in detox. Ray Ellington, I salute you, with the thin bird lips of the strongest 16 year old girl to ever send at the Red, Matt Massey.

Also, Mike Jones!
