Post by SikMonkey »

I got to meet Gretchen and BBerlier for the first time this weekend and I just wanted to say hello to a couple of really great people.

Thanks Sik! We appreciate that! We are glad that we got to meet you as well. I just met Stacy the other week at the gym, so I am really glad that she has a cool person to climb with!

So where did you end up going after Oil?

We went over and I put up Big In Japan for Stacey, but it ended up that climb was harder than first expected. Someone told me it was a 5.7 or something, but I would say it goes at least 5.9 or 5.9+ just because of that bulge. Maybe I am a little off, but IMO, the only part that was 5.7 was the bottom half. After we left there we went to Drive By and I sent Spirit Fingers. It is a kick ass 11c I have been fighting with, but it finally went on my 4th try. I hope to see you all at the crag soon, but if not, I will do my best to get down to Rocktoberfest!

Did everyone see Miguel's write up in Climbing? I never heard about a war between trad and sport in his parking lot. When was that? It's pretty much sporties there but I have never had problems. One of them even nicknamed me "Trad daddy".

That was a long time ago. Are you saying that Miguel wrote an article for Climbing mag or is the article by Dave Schmidt?
