Solution to overcrowding and access issues...

Post by Power2U »

Finally I've got it. After a recent day at the cliff and having to listen to the below mentioned argument in conjunction with the comments on Cut Throat I've come up with a solution, and decided to share it with you all. (Apologizing in advance from my crothity bitterness... maybe PigSteak is right, I'm getting old  )

Next time you're at the cliff and some climber from out of state stays that the Red is just boring mindless jug hauls just calmly respond as follows...

"You're right, go home and tell all your friends."

Don't get upset, don't defend the area. This way the word will get out how bad this place is and then we'll have less people, less problems with access, and maybe some areas will open back up. Land owner tensions will be aleviated b/c less ungrateful out of state wankers will be here disrespecting the rock and land. Who knows maybe Miguel's will even return to a decent place to hang out after a day of climbing :?:

Sometimes change sucks.
Lest we all forget... climbing is a mostly meaningless pursuit that we do for fun.

After we get the MPRP paid off, I say we tell everyone the oil company bought it and its closed. Or we tell everyone all the bolts at the RRG are really loose and bad...all the routes are death routes.

The newly bolted areas are nothing but chossy death routes.

You should tell the out of state people you meet, "Welcome to Kentucky, now go back to where you came from."

I think that "yer gunna squeal like a pig" references might be more effective. (Yeah, I know that that's West Virginia, but for non-Southerners, it's close enough to be scary...)

again ... another "solution" attempted and failed. You do that, not only do they visit, they move here.

"You've got a purdy mouth boy" will get the job done too. Better yet, you could bring a friend that plays the banjo to the crag with you.
