Karla and Jared Appreciation Week

Today, Saturday, May 6, there are 56 vehicles parked in every nook and cranny in and around the MV parking lot. There are between 180 and 220 climbers here – my best guess.
Folks are out there having a ball on routes put up by Jared Hancock (J-Rock) and Karla Carandang (Squeezindelemmon) and other MV developers. Karla and Jared, in particular, have put in many hours of backbreaking, dirty, sweaty work to put up a large number of incredibly high-quality routes in a short period of time for all to enjoy.
Unfortunately, too often, they read on this forum a few whinning self-proclaimed experts' opinions of this or that route that K & J have done. What they don't hear enough of is the compliments we hear from MV visitors. We wish there were a way they could hear what we hear.
Recently, Jared and Karla have grown discouraged, especially over the most recent round of MV developer bashing on this forum and decided to take a well-deserved break from developing. Also, they have another much more important event coming up.
It is one week before their wedding! At this time, I think it would be really nice (and certainly appreciated by Liz and me) if all of you who climb here in the Valley and freely enjoy the fruits of their labors, send them a thank you note, and better yet, a little contribution to the Friends of Muir Valley. This separate-from-MV group is headed up by Karla. Funds are used for trail maintenance and route development hardware.
Liz and I will start off by extending a big heartfelt
THANK YOU to you two for all the classic routes you've created for RRG climbers!!
Next week is hereby declared Karla and Jared Appreciation Week.

One week before your wedding? Already???????
As I have said to Jared, he has to look as himself as an artist (or actor) when it comes to his routes; the worst attention you can receive is none and although there have been times of harsh criticism, there has also been a plethora of kudos as well as constructive criticism. I think you're appreciated more than you realize - both of you and I hope you become comfortable with that.
You two are incredible ... just as two individual people, not as route developers and I adore you both. Congratulations and the very best wishes for a life of happiness.

Karla and Jared,
You two rock on rock, and you know I love you and appreciate you.....even when it's 6 a.m., and I'm the only person in Muir Valley!
If you had anything to do with my Kentucky Rock, I love that too!
Thank You

At the last gathering I worked the sign crew with Jared and I've rarely seen anyone so stoked about a place. His enthusiasm was truly awesome. And Carla's energy seems the engine room for the friends of Muir Valley.
Also, major congrats on the nuptials!

There's no way that is 56 cars. Felt more like 42 cars. When will you guys ever get your ratings correct?
We all love Muir and your work is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! Congratulations on incredible jobs and the coming nuptials.

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials. Now you get to be old stodgey married people. (not a bad place to be...)

Karla and Jared,
Me and Patty appreciate you as freinds first and developers second!
Karla, you and Dipsi were the first people to befreind me on here and follow up in person, since then, our freindship has grown. Your passion, vision, and charachter show in every route you set, don't let this be ruined by the nay sayers. I think you guys will be great together the rest of your lives!!! Karla, my AK-47 is available for weddings

At the time Rick wrote, ...
Saturday, May 6, there are 56 vehicles parked in every nook and cranny in and around the MV parking lot...
,
there were
by actual count 56 cars in addition to ours. Note that he said "in every nook and cranny in and around". There were cars behind the barn, in the meadow below the barn where we don't normally allow parking, on the drive down to our home, a few authorized developers' cars in the valley, and a couple MV visotors' cars parked on our neighbor's property. (Please folks, respect our neighbors' property.) Later in the day, after this count was taken, there were actually a couple more cars squeezed in and quick replacements as early arrivers departed.
But that wasn’t the point of Rick’s message. The point was the great job that Jared and Karla (as well as other developers) have done and our appreciation for their outstanding contributions.
So, what was your point, Saxman, in diluting that message???
