I wish this site had been shut down!

Post by tamara »

I was hoping that these forums would be shut down because they stir up too many rumors and make climbers look like bad. I wish this site just had the guidebook and a bulletin board for access info. I used to enjoy getting on here and reading about climbing, looking at pictures, checking out the routes, and posting occasionally, but it is getting really ridiculous right now. Anybody can get on this site and read the bs that is posted on here. I can't stand that the name Red River is associated with the crap that is on here. I think that these forums and their content will hurt access and a lot of people on here are conducting public arguments, cussing people out, starting rumors about the Red are the most responsible. I thought it was a pretty cool and responsible move that the site had been shut down, but that was just another rumor to get people stirred up. I'm sure that my opinion doesn't matter b/c I'm a gumby and don't have 5 stars by my name and I will probably get bad-mouthed b/c some people have too much time on their hands and this is a way to waste it. I don't really care. I'm not going to log in here anymore.

Actually, this site does more good than bad. You see what you want to see.

I'm not going to bad mouth you but I'm glad you're choosing not to post here anymore. I know you and like you, tamara, but no one forces you to read what you don't want to read. A lot of time and money has made this place possible and I, for one, choose to view this site as a valuable resource.

Oh and BTW, whether you want to believe it or not, you just added to the drama here. Pretty easy to do, eh?

Sure, I'll badmouth you.
:D

I love this site, especially the guidebook and the information that people share. I'm more than willing to take the bad with the good. Hope you change your mind, but I guess you won't see this post.

There's no sense in taking the site down because some can't play well with others. For heaven's sake, without the site, I doubt $18K (so far) would have been raised for the PMRP.

1 - don't post anything here that you wouldn't say in person

2 - if you don't like a thread, don't read it

3 - don't post PM's from other people pubilicly - they will be deleted

4 - don't piss me off anymore
I would like to add

5 - no one is making anyone read this forum. If you don't like it, quit bitching about it and just go away

6 - forums don't create drama, people do. Think before you post

That's a pretty ridiculous thing to say. Hey, let's shut down the Internet because it causes too many problems. People stir crap up here like they do anywhere else.
I've had just about enough of this shit.
