I don't know but Sat. morning he offered me the front door and said the whole building would be down by the end of the month! He was tired of the B.S., disrespect for the elders, and people not paying for camping! He say he'd be opening a pizzahut concession at Torrent, the Murry Preserve, and down in Muir by fall!

You take that back, Mike! Although, I wouldn't blame him!

He should make it enforce a manditory camping fee rather than the honor system. HaHa, imagine*chain-linked fenced campground with one of those swiveling gates that you see at like baseball stadium entrances* How Grand!

Here is my prediction concerning how this is going to unravel:
Everyone will be drinking their beers wrapped in aluminum foil(like, aren't we so fucking cool covering up our beers in aluminum foil so everyone knows we are drinking beer and we are so fucking cool cause it is kind of like a secret club and shit): an employee of Miguel's will see this behavior(requisite knowledge for legal liability): noone,(employee or owner) will take steps to terminate the consumption of alcohol on premises in a dry county; someone leaves Miguel's to go to the beer trailer for more beer; a car coming around the curve strikes the climbers car; at the emergency room blood is drawn and it is determined that climber/driver who caused the MVA was intoxicated and or under 21 and consuming alcohol in plain view in Miguel's. oh and driver climber has no car insurance. Oh and attorney for the innocent deceased or maimed people in the other car decides that Miguel's shouldn't be acquiescent in the consumption of alcohol on premises in a dry county and after several years of litigation Miguel's is no longer owned by Miguel but by the Law firm of" You Should have been Paying attention to the Yahoos and their Illegal Bullshit in the Back Ltd."

Do I want this to happen? No. Does Miguel want this to happen? Of course not. Do you want this to happen? I hope not. Will it happen? I fucking guarantee it. or some scenario very similar. Drinking in a dry county at a public area is illegal isn't it? That makes the plaintiff's attorney's burden of proof much easier.

Smoking pot is illegal regardless of your politics. If you smoke pot at Miguel's and the Gov't can prove they knew or should have known it .the Feds take Miguel's. It is called Forfeiture.
Call me uncool but this shit is out of control. I don't blame Miguel for wanting to shut down, his financial exposure is too great. the personal responsibility is becoming too great.

Miguel does not allow or condone the consumption of illegal drugs on his property. Period. If it is being done, he is not aware.

As far as I know, it is okay to consume alcohol on privately owned property in a dry county so long as it is not being sold (by anyone) on that property. Enough undercover cops have posed there that I'm certain people would have been arrested by now if that were not true...

So Christian, you should absolutely camp at Miguel's in the future. I need help enforcing the rules! My pet peeves are unleashed dogs and people being loud after quiet time begins. Help me kick some punk ass. I can show you what works for me. It always involves an authoritative voice and manner and the words "if you don't [fill in the blank], you are going to have to leave." Never fails, and I know the Venturas appreciate the help. Come back!
