Climbing shoes for wide feet

I've got wide feet and on all of my climbing shoes my foot is about to bust out of the side. Most shoes seem to be made for narrow feet and are still pain full even after months of use.

I don't know if anyone makes wide shoes, but you can always go to a shoe repair place and have them stretch the shoes out for you. They have rack-like things than can be used to make shoes wider in the front, middle, and/or back and the length if needed. Buy shoes that are leather and I am sure they can stretch them to the width you need.

I have never worn them, but understand that Boreal shoes fit wide feet well. If you decide to go that direction you can often get them very cheap from a Spanish site called barrabes.com. Be carefull as the U.S. prices can be more than what they go for in Europe.

barrabes used to be really cheap, but not anymore. The import tax + shipping takes away any cost saving now that the dollar is weaker than the euro.

Your right - I was just on their site. No good deals like they used to have. Poor selection for the US also.

La Sportiva Mega fits a wide foot nicely. It's a high top crack, edging, slab shoe though.

I have the same problem. 5.10 Huecos were the only shoe I tried that was comfy.

La Sportiva Mythos might be an option worth trying. They aren't particularily wide but seem to be flexible enough to conform to wider feet. With the unique tensioning system it might be possible to vary the tension and compress the wider parts of the foot less.
Maybe the best option is try a bunch of different shoes on and pick the least painful. You might also consider unlined shoes as they streach more.
I had some particularily narrow La Sportiva Super X's back in the day and I had to soak them and let them streach on my feet while they dried.

Mythos will give you a ridiculously painful break in period with wide feet. I have fairly wide feet and the Miuras and Testarosas fit heavenly.

The Sportiva toras are made for wide feet and are a high perfomance cheap shoe.
